Many NS alumni came “home” for a reunion at our biennial play in March. The Saturday afternoon matinee drew alums ranging in age from 14 – 35ish. Parents of current and former students, along with the extended NS family of friends, filled the theatre and lobby, catching up and sharing smiles. Alums remember their NS plays, and several commented that the backstage memories are sometimes stronger than what happens onstage. “We had so much fun backstage, cheering for one another, and building up everyone’s courage” remember high schooler, Paola Meadows-Muriel. “I can’t believe we accomplished such a big thing as little kids.” Biennial plays are confidence-builders and a distinctive part of NS culture.
